If you have a home network and router you have probably struggled with port forwarding.  There are several different reasons why you might need to forward a port from you router to a system on your network.  One of the best resources I have found to help accomplish this is www.portforward.com.  This site has directions on how to accomplish port forwarding on almost every mainstream router that exists.  All you have to do is find your router in the list and click on it.  This will bring you to a long list of application.  Then all you have to do is find your application or game in the list and click on it.  You will then be provided with step by step instructions on how to add the port forwarding rules to your router.  So stop by and check out www.portforward.com.  I think you will find it very useful.  It is also great to send to family and friends so they can take care of this task themselves.
