I posted previously how to install .net 3.5 framework on server 2102 from the GUI.  With my current emphasis to do more and more from PowerShell I wanted to figure out how to do it from command line.   Here is a quick tutorial on how to do it from the command line.  There are only two steps to complete the process so it is pretty simple and quick.  Please leave comments below if you have found the quick tutorial helpful.

1. Open a PowerShell or command window with administrator privileges.

2. Type in the following command: DISM /Online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:NetFx3 /All /LimitAccess /Source:d:\sources\sxs

One of the most common tasks I have to perform on Microsoft Server 2012 is to install multiple version of .net.  This tutorial show how to add .net 3.5 to Windows Server 2012.  There are several different ways to accomplish this task.  This tutorial will cover the install using the GUI.  Please leave comments and suggestions about the post below.

Step 1

The first step is click on Manage server in the upper right hand corner of server manager.  Select add roles and features from the drop down menu.

Verify final results to insure the role or feature has completed successfully.  You should also check for any updates that might need to be installed now that there are new roles or features installed on the server.
