It has been a long time since I had to go out and purchase a new router.  I looked at several different brands and models.  I finally decided on the WRT610N from Linksys by Cisco.  There are several features that stand out.  One of them is the dual-n band network that supports both the 2.4 GHZ and 5GHZ bands.  I also found the network attached storage to be a great feature.  This allows you to directly attach a USB drive to the router so it acts like a network storage device.  This feature alone helped justify the cost of the purchase compared to some of the other models like the 310N.  I have had it up and running for a while now and it has not missed a beat.  I push anywhere between eighty to ninety GB of data through it a day.  The WRT670N has not had a single issue up to this point.  In the next few weeks I will be posting more detail on some of the key additional features that are built into the WRT610N.  I will also touch on some of the points where Cisco can improve on like connection stats.
