I stumbled across a site tonight that allows you to search Google and Bing side by side.  I am a huge Google fan and currently use them as my default search engine, but I do think Microsoft is stating to catch them.  The below site will let you quickly compare search results between the two engines.  Check it out and let me know what you think about it.

With the new year approaching quickly I wanted to remind everybody of the great deal you can get.  If you sign up for a new TechNet subscription before December 31, 2009 you can save 28%.  All you have to do is use the discount code of TMSAM08.  The best part of having a TEchNet subscription is you can download just about any type of program from Microsoft and try it out.  The keys you receive do not time out after a certain period of time.  You also receive two free support calls from Microsoft.  That benefit right there would pay for the subscription by itself.    So not only do you receive the above benefits but you also get a years subscription to TechNet Magazine online.  There are also a few other benefits you can read about by following the link to Kevin Remde’s blog below.  All I can say is that if you are an IT pro you can’t really pass on this deal!

Microsoft Security Essentials has been a pleasant surprise since it was launched.  I am always looking for a great security product that is free for home users.  The new product from Microsoft ranks in the top five of products that are offered free for home users.  Security Essentials  will help protect you from viruses, spyware, and other malicious software that is floating around on the internet.  Security Essentials is also very friendly and works well with everything else on your system.  It uses very little system resources  and runs efficiently in the background without you realizing it is even working.  Stop by Microsoft’s site and check out the new product.  If you are a home user looking for a cheap security solution this should be on your list to consider.
