I have talked a little bit before how administrators are being asked to do more with less.  The more organized we can be when it comes to email the better off we are going to be.  I never really had a system for email management until I saw this video.  I did have to watch it a couple times and even review it every once in a while when I fall back into some of my old habits.  The presentation is from a talk Merlin did for Google back in July of 2007.  Thankfully Google and Merlin have been kind enough to share the video.  Please let me know what you think.

I would like to give a big thanks to Gmail for their latest changes on contact manager.  Until now if you emailed somebody a few times they were atuomatically added to your contact manager.   Using this method lead to having allot of useless contacts in your manager which lead to wasting time finding the correct contact.  The new change to contact manager now allows you to navigate to suggested contacts and pick the people that you actually want added.  There are some other details that you can read about over at the Gmail Blog.  I can’t wait to see what other changes will be made in the near future to improve this part of Gmail.

With the addition of server core in 2008 allot of admins have started to learn doing things from the command prompt again.  One of the applications offered by PortableApps.com is called command prompt portable.  This utility will allow you to take your customized command prompt with you.  There are lots of different things you can customize including the window title, colors, prompt, and columns.
